Some tips for your job application

Your CV

The main purpose of a CV is to introduce yourself and to attract the attention of your future manager. A CV should contain all relevan data, mainly:

  • personal data (such as birth date, marital status etc.)
  • contact information (if available a telephone number where you can be reached during the day)
  • educational background (university, field of studies, year of graduation, degree)
  • work experience (with the most relevant tasks)
  • language and any other relevant skills

Your cover letter

Such a cover letter gives you the opportunity to provide all information relevant for the current vacant position.

  • customize the letter by either referring to the job advertisement or by explaining why you consider yourself as the perfect candidate for a position
  • try to "put yourself in our shoes" and consider which of your skills (education, work experience etc.) maight be most relevant for the position
  • write and format the letter in a way that it reflects your intentions but also your personality

Your photo

We usually ask you to submit a recent photograph together with the CV. This photo should be a normal passport photo and a family picture or some art photography.

Other documents

It is not necessary to submit documents such as reference letters or cpies of diplomas together with the CV and the cover letter. You will be asked to do that once you are chosen as the final candidate.

At the interview

Each interview gives you a chance to introduce yourself but also to gain a first inpression of the company and of some of the people there.

  • make clear tha you know what the requiremetns of the position are prior to the interview
  • have some career plan ready - it will be much easier for you to convince a future employer if you know what you wnat and what your professional goal is for the next few years
  • show your interest in the company by knowing more about us than just "RBB is a foreign bank"
  • don't hesitate to ask questions if you are asked to do so by the interviewer
